I started this group to help people understand the paranormal better, to help people cope with the paranormal activity going on around them and to get some answers to my questions. I used to think paranormal experiences were only happening to me. I thought I was going crazy. Then it happened to a friend and myself at the same time and we both looked at each other like, "What just happened?" After that I had to find out more. I started to investigate with friends and my wife. After helping a person on the east coast with her issue she encouraged me to put together a ghost hunting team. I put together a team later that summer. In 2005 The California Lake Forest Ghost Hunters was formed but didn't investigate private residences, just public venues with a history of hauntings. I began to do research and to investigate all those things that went bump in the night more seriously. As time went on, people heard about my investigations and findings and the group grew. I have been very lucky to have met a lot of interesting people along the way. I really enjoy what we do and feel great when we can get people some answers, be it paranormal or not.
Personally, I have had paranormal experiences before when I was a kid and have lived in homes where I was uncomfortable and didn't want to go home. Because of my experiances I understand what people go through. I’ve been to some very interesting places in my life time and have had some really weird paranormal experiences with spirits or ghosts and other things. Some places had positive activity and some, well… some... not so positive. I have witnessed everything from objects moving on their own to full body apparitions. As a kid these events used to frighten me, but not so much any more. The California Ghost Hunters are a group of individuals I’ve gathered together who share my desire to help others by teaching and empowering them and helping them cope with their paranormal problems. Each member brings a unique talent, insight, and perspective to the team.
As a paranormal investigator, I always try to be level headed and skeptical about what is happening, and expect no less from my team. I am very proud of what we do and of the help and support California Ghost Hunters has provided and will provide to others. The California Ghost Hunters has been able to help people in Orange County and throughout all of California.
Investigator/Case Management
Mary Ann performs many clerical and administrative duties for the group. She also helps to contact potential locations we would like to investigate and is also very experienced in researching and securing those locations. Her enthusiasm, eagerness, and kindness have made her an invaluable team member. She is like the mom of our group. She has a great attitude and is fun loving. Mary Ann also assists with investigations. She is an avid reader, and watcher, of all things paranormal.
Nila
Location Scout / Investigator
Nila is always on the look out for a location we can investigate. She has had great success at unearthing information about locations and their history. She's a gusty investigator too! As Nila has stated, "I’ve always been interested in the paranormal. As a child, ghost stories fascinated me, rather than scared me. The older I get, the more I like the idea that there is much more to this world (our life) than what we can plainly see.” I am biology major with a minor in history. The combination, of always abiding by analytical thought and factuality, affords me the skills required to be both a savvy investigator (knowing how to "debunk") and a detailed researcher. I'm certified in First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, CPR (infant, child and adult). These skills, coupled with my interest in the paranormal, clearly illustrate my desire to help both people and spirits, alike. “My goal as an Investigator with C.G.H. is to, at the end of the day, have expanded my knowledge of the paranormal and shared what I've learned with those needing help in understanding and coping with their own ghostly experiences. "
Jack
Camera Specialist
Jack-Of-All-Trades is what we call him. Jack is our Camera Specialist and resident electronics expert. Jack is not only great at debunking "paranormal" photos, he is also great at authenicating them. Jack is also an licensed Electrician and EMF Specialist.
Angelena
Co Founder and Lead Investigator
Angelena is our Lead Investigator and one of our Core Members. She is extremely knowledgeable of the paranormal field. She strives for continuos improvement within the group and is extremely effective at setting up investigations and breaking down evidence. She is considered the groups EVP Specialist and she keeps everyone updated on the latest techniques of that realm. She is also a logical thinker and is great at finding alternative explanations for activity before declaring it paranormal. Her attention to detail is matched only by her superb organizational and interpersonal skills.
Amy
Tech Manager/Investigator
Amy is another of our core members and is someone we are extremely fortunate to have on board. Amy is diversley talented, and her strong background in the paranormal ignites enthusiasm and analytical thinking within the team. As our Tech Manager, Amy helps keep the groups equipment cutting edge and relevant, and the Team members up to date on all of the newest technology.As Amy puts it, "I love working with the most up to date scientific practices in the field, and I really enjoy training our members on the technical aspects needed to yield the best results both when investigating and when reviewing evidence." By day, Amy manages a busy restaurant and during free time she continues to tirelessly explore the paranormal.
Diane
Case Manager/Investigator
Diane is our Lead Case Manager and she also assists with the Marketing and Communications of the Group. She is an avid fan of reading and watching everything to do with the paranormal. She has 20 years experience working in Human Services and holds a B.A. in Psychology. She also loves to investigate when she can and deeply enjoys helping people no matter the circumstances.
Shannon
Investigator
Shannon is a bundle of fun and energy all wrapped up in one. Luckily for us, she also has insaitable appetite for all things paranormal. She spends much of her free time looking for evidence and trying to find new places to investigate. She is a great investigator and she loves to research. By day she manges a busy office and helps keeps a business on track.
Sherry
Investigator
Sherry joined our team this year and has been a valuable asset. She is smart, organized and she strives for excellence in all she does. Sherry has held many leadership roles throughout her life with several community organizations. Sherry has traveled the world and spends a great deal of time on geneology and research. She holds a B.A. Psychology and a combined degree in Anthropology and Sociology.
Kyle
Investigator
Kyle is a true adventurer. He splits his time between California and Arizona and when he is not hunting ghosts, he works as a tour guide of the Grand Canyon. His interpersonal skills, and his ability to communicate to groups of people effectively, has made him a valuable asset to our team.
TJ
Investigator/Camera Specialist
TJ came to us with an extensive background in photography and videography. As a published professional, he has spent many years in sports video and celebrity photography. TJ is also one of our Team Electricians, assiting us on cases with all things electrical! Like the rest of us, TJ wants real evidence of the paranormal, and wants to expand his knowledge of paranormal science.
We serve all of Orange County, California and the surrounding counties. We do travel as well and are always looking for new places to investigate. Be it a private residence or other. If you are in need of help please contact us to set up an investigation today.
