A little more on the law and Liability:
California Ghost Hunters will not be held liable for your actions! Only California Ghost Hunter Case Managers or the Founder are responsible for setting up new cases and investigations. If you happen to know of an interesting place C.G.H. may want to investigate, or have a wish list of locations, please let us know. Present these suggestions to the founder, Matt Harvey, or one of the Case Managers, either at a team meeting or via email. Be sure to provide as much information as possible about the location, as this will help facilitate securing the location for a future investigation. You will receive full credit for setting up any case or investigation we choose to follow through on and investigate.
Only pre-authorized and pre-approved California Ghost Hunters may send out any kind of correspondence on behalf of the team- this shall include letters, e-mails, phone calls, and all other forms of communication . Only authorized members of C.G.H. may ask a prospective client or clients for permission to investigate a location. Contacting any clients of California Ghost Hunters past, present, or future is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the team.
C.G.H. does not trespass or perform illegal activities in order to gain access to any area, location, facility, building, or parcel of land or property. The California Ghost Hunters Abides By A Zero Tolerance Policy in regards to trespass!!
Presentation:
When on an investigation with California Ghost Hunters, you are expected to dress and act in a professional manner. C.G.H. is invited to perform many private investigations and our clients expect and deserve our courtesy and professionalism at all times. Members are expected not to horseplay, "joke" around, cause distractions, or make a scene in front of the client. Investigators are not to reveal evidence to a client without the express consent of the founder or lead investigator. Interactions with the client are to be kept to a minimum during the course of the investigation, limited to pleasantries and supplying general information.
Equipment and Training:
We use a DVR system with cameras to collect evidence as well as digital cameras, hand held video cameras, EMF detectors, digital thermometer, digital voice recorders, and various other equipment necessary to properly conduct an investigation of possible paranormal activity. It is not necessary at first to have access to your own own equipment to be a part of C.G.H, equipment will be provided to you at the investigation site. However, any equipment you borrow from C.G.H. must be returned in the same condition it was when loaned to you. If equipment is damaged or lost, you will be responsible for fixing or replacing the equipment in question. Your membership in the group may be suspended until retribution is made. Once you are with the group for a 6 moth period and you have been made part of the group you will be asked to get a digital voice recorder and your own handy cam that records to memory card or hard drive and that has night vision capability.
Training opportunities will be available to all C.G.H. members. Trainings classes normally occur on a monthly basis and some times during meetings and in the course of the investigation as provided by more experienced members.
Transportation and Case Assignment:
You may also be asked to drive to the locations we are investigating, although we make every effort to carpool as often as possible. Proof of Valid Insurance and registration is required to transport C.G.H. members. Sometimes carpooling is not realistic or an option, in which case, it is your responsibility to arrive at the location on time and prepared to investigate.
Please understand, not everyone can go on every case every time. Every effort will be made to rotate team members participation and to allow different members to participate on a variety of cases, according to each members strengths and abilities as well as based upon their weaknesses. If a certain member or members are asked to participate in a particular investigation or case, it is because they bring something specifically needed for that particular instance. Please do not be offended, your time will come!
Team Meetings:
Team meetings are scheduled as they are needed and are posted in advance on the C.G.H. group calendar. Most team meetings are held in Lake Forest, CA., unless stated differently. At C.G.H. meetings, the team discusses possible future group activities and participates in training and practice sessions using the various equipment needed during and after an investigation. We also use the time to schedule investigations and firm up plans for the coming months. In addition, discuss anything else the group feels is important. Because they are so important to the viability of the Group, meetings are mandatory. In the event you must miss a meeting, the founder or designer must be informed before the scheduled meeting. If ever a meeting is canceled or rescheduled, you will be informed as soon a s possible. Occasionally meetings may be changed without warning due to scheduling issues with core members.
Reviewing Evidence :
Evidence Review will be done at the end of each case. All members are expected to assist in evidence review when requested. If you have evidence from a C.G.H. investigation, you must present the evidence to the group within two weeks of obtaining it. If you are given evidence to take home to review you are responsible for that evidence. If you need help in completing the review of the evidence, you are to let us know right away so that someone may help you to complete the review. Being tardy or remiss in turning in evidence may result in forfeiting your opportunity to participate in the next scheduled investigation. Accurate and authentic evidence is very important not only to investigation, but to the California Ghost Hunters as a team, the paranormal scientific community, and to the client as well. If the founder or any member of C.G.H. believes evidence has been altered or faked in any way, it will result in the offender or offenders immediate and permanent expulsion from C.G.H. team.
We have a lot of fun doing what we do. We are good friends and are ready to support one another when needed. If you feel you want to help us to help people with paranormal problems and can contribute your time and money (you will have to pay for your own expenses, gear if you so choose to buy your own which is recommended and other costs we incur while ghost hunting),please contact and let us know what you think you could bring to the team. We are looking for members that want to learn and have fun and who aren’t afraid of hard work .
On private investigations you will not be allowed to bring along anyone who is not approved by the group. Keep in mind, you also have to be able to handle the physical demands of ghost hunting. We do a lot of walking and some climbing, so if you are not in decent physical shape you might want to consider that. However, if you don't want to go on investigations and just want to help us out by breaking down evidence and by contributing in other ways you can still be a valuable member of the team.
Before you apply you may want to check out your local library or bookstore for books on ghosthunting and paranormal investigation. There are plenty of them out there these days and they may be able to give you the information you need to make an informed decision about whether paranormal investigation is really for you, it is not without it's risks, and it really can be very time consuming. So arm yourself with the information you need before you take the leap!
In conclusion, we are looking for serious people who really want to help the group. So, drop us an e-mail and let us know why you think you could be a valuable addition to our team. Please attach a paranormal research resume' if you have one. If we choose you as a potential candidate, you will receive a phone call and an application. Please include contact information including phone and e-mail.
Please note that due to the volume of requests to join the group, we may not be able to respond to all inquiries.
